A partir du début de l'année 2017, date à laquelle la nouvelle règlementation CITES rentrait en vigueur et contraignait les fabricants d'instruments de musique à un système de permis pour tout instrument comportant du palissandre (dalbergia) et du bubinga (guibourtia), la CSFI et la CAFIM ont décidé de missionner trois personnes pendant 3 ans avec l'objectif d'obtenir une exemption pour les instruments de musique à la prochaine conférence des parties.
Cette équipe est composée de - Fanny Reyre-Ménard, luthière violon et vice-présidente de la CSFI - Michael Jousserand, ingénieur R&D chez Buffet-Crampon et représentant la CAFIM et Jacques Carbonneaux, vice-président de l'APLG et chargé de mission CSFI.
Le travail de notre équipe a été très actif en France auprès des ministères de l'environnement, de l'économie et de la culture mais aussi dans l’UE, auprès la Direction Générale de l'Environnement de l’Union Européenne qui a finalement soutenu notre cause.
Sa présence aux 4 comités CITES lui a permis également d’affirmer sa position auprès du secrétariat CITES et des autorités des différents pays.
Notre équipe a uni ses forces avec 27 autres organisations nationales et internationales représentants l’entière communauté des instruments de musique au sein d'une coalition internationale qui s’est réunie pendant près de 3 ans, une à deux fois par mois, pour préparer l’échéance de la 18ème conférence des parties de la CITES.
Le 28 août 2019 lors de la Cop18 à Genève, cette exemption a été adoptée !

The work of our team has been very active in France with the ministries of the environment, economy and culture but also in the EU, with the Directorate General of the Environment of the European Union which finally supported our cause.
The presence of the team at the four CITES committees also allowed it to assert its position with the CITES Secretariat and the authorities of the different countries.
Our team joined forces with 27 other national and international organizations representing the entire musical instrument community in an international coalition that has been meeting for nearly 3 years, once or twice a month, to prepare for the event. deadline for the 18th CITES Conference of the Parties.
On August 28, 2019 at Cop18 in Geneva, this exemption was adopted!
